Presentation and participation

The 1st STEAM Education Congress – STEAMEC 2021 offers the following themes: Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

The event will take place on June 10 and 11, 2021 on the campus of the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander in San José de Cúcuta - Colombia. Due to the current situation of preventive isolation and the regulations established by the government regarding the realization of massive events, it is proposed to carry out a hybrid event which will have some presentations (limited and defined by the Organizing Committee which will also be transmitted via internet) that comply with biosafety standards and the rest will be transmitted in a synchronized way through the internet by the various communication channels available such as Facebook, Youtube, among others. This will be a space for training and academic cooperation between young researchers and teacher-researchers that will emerge as a scenario for the construction, exchange and development of research and training proposals that aim to promote STEAM Education in order to present their progress and/or results of their current academic work.

The Faculty of Education, Arts and Humanities of the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander, oversees its organization and invites the academic community of all educational levels and areas of knowledge of STEAM to participate through communications.

The 1st STEAM Education Congress – STEAMEC 2021 offers two presentation modalities to suit the preferences of the participants. All proposals must initially submit an abstract of no more than 300 words. The presentation modalities are Short Communication and Conference; the short communication will have a space of 15 minutes, while the Conference has 30 minutes. In both cases, five minutes will be allotted for questions, which will be deducted from the time allotted for each modality of participation.

Communication proposals may be written in Spanish or English. All proposals, regardless of the type of presentation format (short communication or conference) will be certified as a communication. Certificates will only be issued to participants who pay the registration fee of $50.000 for all public and fill out the form found in the following link, depending on the type of participation.

All communication proposals, as well as their length, must contain the following structure and should be sent to congressteameducation@ufps.edu.co:
